Holly Head

Holly Head is Kate’s most recent Christmas album. She asked us to create the concept for the entire look and feel. The idea was centred around folklore and nature, taking influence from The Green Man and from traditional headpieces. We art-directed the photoshoot with the excellent photographer David Lindsey, and asked botanical studio, The Plant Room, to create the beautiful headpieces. The album packaging really feels like a successful and complete collaboration of multiple disciplines.

New look

Kate Rusby wanted a fresh new look with a simple, recognisable logo.

The result was the creation of an elegant ‘K’ loop for the marque, supported by a stacked typeface. This new branding has been used across a wide range of collateral, including her merchandise, posters, website and albums.

Life in a Paper Boat

Pure Records asked us to develop the CD packaging for Kate’s latest album, Life in a Paper Boat. The album title and outside cover were presented to us and our challenge was then to develop these into a full CD package, evocative of Kate’s music.

We took the album’s title as our inspiration and then created and photographed a ‘sea’ made from curled paper strips. Each double-page spread within her lyrics booklet features a unique paper creation along this theme. It was so well received that our ‘sea’ theme was developed for all of the album’s promotional material.
